As an initial entry point for DK's Korner, I thought I would introduce the most important people in my life -- Tara, Ryan, Connor and our newest edition, Abbygirl's Little Kricket, or Abby for short.
I figure it is important for you to meet the group since this is typically going to be the target topic for my blog. In short the boys keep us busy and on the run all the time. I can probably fill blog after blog entry with stories of the boys. Their quotes or "kidisms" will make for great fodder.
Ryan is at a great age right now as he is starting to get into new things. He has all of a sudden has decided that he wants to start playing the guitar, where that has come from I am not sure. Come to think of it, it could be either American Idol or Guitar Heroes. This should prove interesting. Baseball is still his sport of choice and we are getting rolling with our first season of "kid-pitch" baseball now.
Connor is a feisty four year old who is learning how to push every boundary here at home. He is not afraid to challenge Tara or me. It is enough to drive us batty. He loves cartoons, just like almost every four year old. Spongebob Square Pants, Little Bear and Avatar are at the top of the heap right now. Connor is our creative one. He loves to do art projects and play with play doh and the like.
Tara is working as a chiropractic assistant and marketing manager for Mills Chiropractic and Wellness Center here in Olathe. She loves working with the patients and has really taken to the world of patient care and wellness. She still loves gardening, baking, shopping, talking on the phone to her friends and family, but most importantly she loves hanging out with me and the kids. And of course I would be remiss if I did not mention her love of our new puppy, Abby. You never would have guessed Tara would become a "dog person", but Abby has converted her.
I work for a major telecommunications company headquartered in Overland Park, KS. I am sure most people can figure that one out. I am a manager in the Communications department where I am responsible for managing the intranet program and business operations support activities for communications tools and technology. In my "spare" time (yeah right) I enjoy coaching Ryan's baseball team and playing competitive tournament softball. I also love to hang out an play with Abby. I enjoy taking her out for runs in the evening.
Abby is our black Labrador Retriever. We have had her for a year now as we got her last Easter as a gift for the boys. She has definitely been a blessing. She is so much fun and is an absolute love bug. Tara and I comment about the fact that we don't know what we would do without her now. She has definitely become a member of the family.
Well there you have it...not the most exciting entry ever, but enough to introduce you to the Olathe Kneeshaws. More to come in the near future.
